The Named A / S is a Danish company operates the tire recycling. The pilot plant was built at the parent company in Viborg, Denmark. Used tires are mechanically processed into granulate and then broken down into their individual parts steel, textile and rubber. Well over 90% of the material can be reused in this way. Usually, old tires are burned mainly during cement production .

At Genan, for example, the rubber is used as infill granules for artificial turf or in road construction.

By 2014, founder and CEO Bent A. Nielsen owned 52% of the company. The remaining 48% of the capital was owned by the Danish pension fund PKA, which also took over Nielsen's shares in August 2014.

In Germany, the Genan Group operates plants in Oranienburg (Brandenburg), Dorsten (North Rhine-Westphalia) and Kammlach (Bavaria).
