The GeneScan Europe AG is a holding company that is the global market leader in the field of molecular biological analysis of genetically modified organisms provides (GMO) in food, feed and raw materials. Complete solutions are offered, from carrying out analyzes of genetically modified organisms to advice. GeneScan can fall back on laboratories in Germany and the USA. The target groups of the group of companies are companies in the agricultural sector, the food industry, and medical and environmental analysis. The company is listed on the CDAX .

history

In 1993, Hanse-Analytik GmbH was founded as one of the first GMO analysis laboratories. In 1996 GeneScan GmbH was founded as a laboratory and research center for GMO analysis. GeneScan Europe AG was created in 1998 through the merger of Hanse-Analytik GmbH, GeneScan GmbH and BioChip Technologies GmbH . In 1999 the company started GMO analysis in the USA. In 2000 BioInside GmbH, a leading company in quantitative GMO analysis, was integrated into the group of companies. In the same year, GeneScan Europe AG went public. GeneScan AgroFood has had an international presence since 2001 with GMO laboratories and strategic partnerships in Europe, the USA, South America, Asia and Australia. In 2002 laboratories were opened in Brazil and an agency in Hong Kong. Also in 2002 the company entered into a cooperation with AgriQuality , a leading provider of food analysis in Australasia. A cooperation with the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein , South Africa has existed since 2003. In 2004 the holding company signed a cooperation agreement with the Eurofins Group , which is a majority shareholder with around 75%.
