General Air Master
General Luftzeugmeister (GL) was a public office of the Reich Aviation Ministry at the time of National Socialism .
History of the agency
At the beginning of February 1939, a general air master was appointed for the first time. This was subordinated to the State Secretary of Aviation and the Inspector General of the Air Force .
He was under the Technical Office for the development, testing and procurement of the air unit (formerly Division fliers technology of the General Aviation Authority), which supplies office (until mid-April 1943, then chief of the supply system) and the Office Group industrial plan and the economy (from June 1939 Amtsgruppe Technical economy and budget and from 1941 industrial economy office ). In 1940 a planning office was set up. A Jägerstab for increasing the production of fighter aircraft was created in March 1944, which was subordinate to both the State Secretary for Aviation and the Reich Minister for Armaments and War Production .
A non-wearable award associated with the department is the honor plaque of the General Aircraft Master Motor Vehicle Disposal Department .
The main tasks of the general aviation master included the development, testing and procurement of all the material used by the German air force during the Second World War, as well as the provision of stocks for all subordinate departments of the air force.
The agency was dissolved at the end of June 1944 and transferred to the Chief of Technical Air Armaments (Chief TLR).
