Genettinae is a subfamily of the crawling cats . They are ground-dwelling and tree-dwelling, elongated crawling cats that are between 65 and 114 centimeters long.

The 17 species of the subfamily are mainly found in Africa, the small-spotted genet ( Genetta genetta ) is the only species also found in Europe (Spain, Portugal) and Asia (Arabian Peninsula).
