Geneviève Castrée

Genevieve Castree (* 1981 in Loretteville / Quebec ; † 9 July 2016 ) was a Canadian comic draughtswomen, illustrator and musician.

Life

Geneviève Castrées book debut Lait Frappé was published in 2000, just in time for the International Comics Festival in Angoulême, France . There she was the youngest member of the Quebec Mission . At the age of 18 she became the shooting star of the festival.

In the same year she developed the story Die Fabrik exclusively for the German publisher Reprodukt .

The book Pamplemoussi , published in 2004, is sold with a specially produced 12 "LP that accompanies the comic acoustically.

Castrée was also active as a musician. With her solo project Woelv she released the 7 "single Le Level de la Mer in 2004 and the 12" LP Tout Seul dans la Foret en Plein Jour, Avez-Vous Peur in 2007 .

Contributions by Geneviève Castrée have appeared in the magazines "Kramers Ergot # 4", "The Drama # 5" and in "Drawn & Quarterly Showcase # 3".

Geneviève Castrée last lived in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. On July 9, 2016, she died of cancer diagnosed in 2015.
