Genia Kostka

Genia Kostka (born March 16, 1979 ) is a German sinologist .

Life

From 1996 to 1998 she obtained the International Baccalaureate at Li Po Chun College . From 1998 to 2001 she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science . From 2001 to 2003 an MA in International Relations at Johns Hopkins University. Specializations: International Economics and International Development. From 2005 to 2010 she earned the DPhil in Development Studies , Oxford University , Pembroke College Dissertation: Private Sector Development in Central China: Patterns, Causes and the Role of Local Governments . From 2010 to 2014 she taught as a junior professor for Chinese economics, Department of Economics, East-West Center for Economics and Cultural Studies, at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management . From 2014 to 2016 she taught as a professor of energy and infrastructure government at the Hertie School of Governance . Since 2010 she has been a professor at Tsinghua University at the Research Center for Technological Innovation (RCTI). She has been a Fellow at the Hertie School of Governance since 2017. Since 2017 she has been teaching as a professor of sinology at the Free University of Berlin .

Her research interests are digital governance, environmental policy, climate change and energy policy, political economy and regional focus: China.
