Gennadi Viktorovich Waganow ( Russian: Геннадий Викторович Ваганов ; born November 25, 1936 in Duwan ) is a former Soviet cross-country skier .

Career

Waganov, who started for CSKA Moscow, had his first international success at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley . There he won the bronze medal with the relay. He was also there seventh over 50 km and fourth over 15 km and 30 km. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Zakopane in 1962 , he won the bronze medal with the relay. Two years later he again won bronze with the relay at the Winter Olympics in Innsbruck . He also took 19th place over 30 km and 14th place over 15 km. In March 1964 he was sixth at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival over 50 km. In Soviet championships he won three times over 15 km (1960, 1962, 1964) and four times with the relay (1962-1965).
