Georg Bonsack

Georg Bonsack , also Georgius Bohnensack (* 1524 in Hanover , † June 24, 1589 in Bardowick ) was a German Lutheran theologian and general superintendent of the general diocese of Lüneburg-Celle .

Life

Bonsack was provost in Lüchow in 1554 and was appointed - initially against his will - by Duke Wilhelm the Younger in 1570 as first pastor at the town church of St. Marien and general superintendent in Celle. In 1577 he signed the concord formula . Suspected by the Duke of cryptocalvinism , he was transferred to Bardowick as superintendent in 1583 .
