Jerzy Chrystian Arnold (also Georg Christian Arnold , born February 1, 1747 in Leszno , † November 19, 1827 in Warsaw ) was a Polish medic .

Life

Jerzy Chrystian Arnold studied at the University of Leipzig medicine and was in 1768 with his dissertation De motu fluidic nervei per fibra medullares nervorum doctorate . He later worked as a doctor and obstetrician in Warsaw and was councilor to the King of Poland.

On September 9, 1774 he was named Georg Christian Arnold with the academic surname Nileus III. under the matriculation no. 799 accepted as a member of the Leopoldina . On July 26, 1827, he was the only Leopoldina member to date with his own matriculation number. ( Matriculation No. 1315 ) the anniversary diploma of his 50-year membership.

Jerzy Chrystian Arnold was buried in Warsaw in the Evangelical Augsburg Cemetery after his death in 1827 .
