Georg Christian Tegtmeyer

Georg Christian Tegtmeyer (born July 11, 1792 in Hornsmühlen , † May 15, 1878 in Lübeck ) was a merchant and senator of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

Life

Tegtmeyer had been a member of the Schonenfahrers in Lübeck since 1825 and was elected to the city council in 1839 as the senior man in charge. As councilor (and after the constitutional reform senator of the city) he belonged to the finance department and the forest department from 1839 until his death. From 1840 to 1868 he was also a member of the Trade and Shipping Commission. From 1857 to 1878 he was head of the Holy Spirit Hospital . He married Wilhelmine born on October 28, 1828 in Lübeck.
