Georg Folz

Georg Josef Maria Folz (born March 19, 1921 in Breslau ; † August 23, 2005 ) was a German doctor and politician ( CDU ). From 1967 to 1970 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Folz graduated from the humanistic grammar school in Breslau in 1939. Then he was drafted into Reich labor and military service. From the end of 1939 he completed a medical degree in Berlin , Breslau and Freiburg / Br., Passed the state examination at the end of 1944 and the doctorate to Dr. med. Beginning of 1945. In the meantime he did military service in the Navy as a reserve officer candidate, most recently as a marine assistant doctor in the reserve. He was wounded and was 30 percent damaged by the war. His professional training took place in various departments in Hanover hospitals and as a practice representative. My first medical work was in the Poggenhagen refugee youth camp and as an accompanying doctor on evacuation transports. In 1946 he volunteered as a refugee supervisor in Langenhagen . In 1953 he opened his own practice in Langenhagen.

With the beginning of the reconstruction of the Bundeswehr , he worked as a contract doctor at the Army Officer School I in Hanover as well as a sports doctor, especially in disabled sports and as a DRK on-call doctor.

Offices

Folz has been a member of the Association of Displaced Persons and a member of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Hannover since it was founded . Since 1948 he was councilor of the CDU in Langenhagen and a member of the district council of the district of Hanover , as well as a member of the district committee and chairman of the health committee.

Folz was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament for the 6th electoral period from June 6, 1967 to June 20, 1970. There he was active in the committees for health care, for zone border issues, for displaced persons, refugees and war victims and for budget and finances. He campaigned in the state parliament to bring the so-called Langenhagen law to a majority.
