Georg Friedrich Pfefferkorn (born February 5, 1767 in Creuzburg , † December 27, 1828 ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Georg Friedrich Pfefferkorn was the son of a butcher. At an early age he showed a tendency to serious scientific studies and thus induced his father to send him to the grammar school in Eisenach . Since 1788 he has been studying law at the University of Jena . In 1792 he was admitted to the bar in his hometown and in 1796 received the title of court attorney. In 1797 he was appointed city counsel for Eisenach, where he was appointed city judge in 1813. He practiced his profession, especially as a member of the police commission, energetically and prudently. Due to his patriotism, he also worked intensively in the erection of the Landsturm , which the political events made necessary.

In recognition of his services and charitable endeavors, Pfefferkorn was appointed judicial councilor by Grand Duke Carl August von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach in 1822 and elected deputy at the Weimar parliament by the Eisenach citizenship . As a member of the committee for the examination of the notified draft bills, the audit committee and the committee for the promotion of internal commercial activity, he distinguished himself at the state parliaments held in the years 1823-26 by the clarity and solidity of his lectures, as well as by the frankness that he was always peculiar. He died on December 27, 1828 at the age of 61.
