Georg Friedrich Schenck

Georg Friedrich Schenck (* 1953 in Aachen ) is a German pianist and university professor.

Life

Schenck studied with Bernhard Ebert at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media , attended a master class by Claudio Arrau and was then a student of the American pianist André Watts for many years , with whom he also performed in a piano duo . In 1986 he received a professorship at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf .

In 1987/88 he performed all of Beethoven's piano sonatas and published an album with piano works by Paul Hindemith . He received several awards for his CD with piano transcriptions by Johannes Brahms .

The composer Adriana Hölszky dedicated her work Hörfenster für Franz Liszt to him , which was premiered in Frankfurt am Main in 1989 .

His students include the Bulgarian pianist Evgeni Bozhanov and the Korean pianist Sukyeon Kim .
