Georg Haas (meteorologist)

Georg Haas (born June 14, 1978 in Leipzig , German Democratic Republic ) is a German meteorologist and moderator.

Life

From 1985 to 1989 he attended the Mozart Elementary School in Linz in Upper Austria in Austria . Then he went to the Khevenhüller Gymnasium Linz , where he graduated in 1997 . He then studied medicine and, from 2000 to 2006, meteorology at the University of Innsbruck . His diploma thesis at the Institute for Meteorology and Geophysics from October 2006 dealt with the northern foehn and precipitation in Innsbruck . Haas has been working as a meteorologist and moderator at Swiss Meteomedia AG since 2006 . Haas co-directs the weather forecasting tournament on wetterturnier.de in Innsbruck. In 2009 and 2012 he was named the best synoptic of the year. Georg Haas has already moderated the weather several times in the ARD morning magazine.
