Georg Käß

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Johann Georg Käß (born April 16, 1823 in Schussenried ; † February 9, 1903 in Augsburg-Haunstetten ) was a councilor and landowner.

Life

Käß had lived in Haunstetten since 1844 and then became part owner of Haunstetter Bleiche in 1847. In 1860 the bleaching became his property until he sold it again to Clemens Martin in 1888.

Among other things, Käß is known for his social commitment in the Haunstetten community. For example, he established the foundation for the “establishment of a hospital for the poor and a custody for small children”. Thanks to a generous donation from Käß, the community was able to acquire a piece of land on the edge of the Siebentischwald forest on which they built a hospital , today's Augsburg South Clinic . In 1904 the Eichendorff elementary school was built with his help.
