Georg Kippels (born September 21, 1959 in Bedburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and has been a member of the German Bundestag since the federal election on September 22, 2013 . In his first candidacy, Kippels won the direct mandate in the Erftkreis I constituency with 47.3% of the first votes .

Life

education

After graduating from the Silverberg High School in Bedburg in 1978, Kippels did his military service in the Air Force from 1978 to 1979. As a result, he began his law studies in 1979 at the University of Cologne, which he completed in 1985 with the first state examination in Cologne. In 1989 he passed the second state examination in law in Düsseldorf. In 1990 he received his doctorate in Cologne. He has been working as a lawyer in Bedburg since 1989.

Party career

Kippels has been a member of the CDU Germany since 1980. Kippels has been a member of the CDU's SME and Business Association since 1990. He has been a city councilor in Bedburg Mitte since 1994. In 2000 Kippels became mayor of Bedburg Mitte. He was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group from 2003 until the local elections in 2014. He has been deputy district chairman of the CDU Rhein-Erft since 2009. From 2012 to 2014 Kippels was deputy chairman of the CDU Bedburg.

Member of Parliament

Kippels has been a full member of the Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development since the federal election in 2013 and since Jens Spahn was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance (July 2015), he has also been a full member of the Committee on Health and the Subcommittee on Global Health. He was previously a deputy member there, as well as in the Committee on European Union Affairs. Since 1994 he has been a member of the City Council of Bedburg. Since the municipal elections in 2014, Georg Kippels has been an expert citizen in the committee for the environment, district development and energy in the Rhein-Erft district.
