Georg shopkeeper
Georg Ladenmacher , also Jörg Ladenmacher , († 1562 ) was a German hymn poet as well as a member and martyr of the Anabaptist movement .
Life
He and his friend Wilhelm von Keppel were captured in Cologne in 1562. In prison they wrote the hymn to sing I want to raise , which includes 45 stanzas, based on Martin Luther's A new song we raise on and later spread among the Anabaptists. Von Keppel was released, while shopkeepers drowned in the Rhine . He's probably also to be equated with a person named Jörg Friese .
