Georg Luber (soccer player)

Georg Luber (born January 28, 1912 in Nuremberg , † March 19, 1980 there ) was a German football player. He won the Tschammer Cup in 1939 with 1. FC Nürnberg .

Luber was accepted into the men's team of 1. FC Nürnberg in 1932 and played his first game with her on June 4, 1932 in a friendly settlement in Jena. A day later he scored his first goal for the club against BC Chemnitz. Between 1934 and 1943 Luber was Gaumeister seven times with 1. FC Nuremberg and was used in nine matches in the finals of the German championship. In the spring of 1935, the Berlin “Football Week judged Luber: “Extremely tough, if not polished enough. But there's something in the young man! ” After failing to play in the victorious final in 1936 (2-1 against Fortuna Düsseldorf ), Luber won his only title with the 1939 Tschammer Cup. On April 28, 1940 , he was the right midfielder with 1. FC Nürnberg in the cup final against SV Waldhof Mannheim, the club won 2-0. At the age of 31 Luber ended his football career at 1. FC Nürnberg in 1943. Within twelve years he had played 303 games as a regular midfielder for FCN. In 1984 the BFV Mittelfranken awarded him the silver badge of honor.
