Life
Müller-Breslau trained as a lithographer and eventually studied painting with Adolf Dressler . He went to Berlin, where he came into contact with Karl Gussow , Illinger and Hermann Prell . Müller-Breslau worked as a freelance painter in Berlin and from 1883 in Munich. From 1886 to 1887 he went on a study trip to Italy and settled in Dresden in 1892. Here he joined the Dresden Secession and the artists' association Die Elbier . One of his works is a twelve-square-meter mural in the auditorium of the education center in Frankenberg. It bears the title How Kaiser Karl held the school exam and was made by Müller-Breslau around 1905. It is considered the only monumental painting of its kind in Saxony with a secular character.
