Georg Machnik
Georg Anton Machnik (born August 5, 1935 in Ratibor , Upper Silesia) is a German hepato gastroenterologist.
Life
Georg Machnik studied medicine at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena . In 1959, after completing a dissertation entitled The Measurement of Algesia with Different Rectangular Currents , he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . In 1976 the doctorate B to Dr. sc. med. with a work under the title hepatosis - hepatitis - cirrhosis of the liver. Morphological-functional pathology . In 1980 he was appointed university lecturer.
From 1993 to 2000 Machnik was rector of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. His successor was Karl-Ulrich Meyn . On November 22nd, 2000 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Free State of Thuringia .
