Karl-Ulrich Meyn

Karl-Ulrich Meyn (born December 13, 1939 in Hamburg ) is a German lawyer .

After graduating from high school in 1959 at the Christianeum in Hamburg, Meyn studied law , journalism , economics , history and philosophy at the universities of Berlin and Kiel . After professorships at the universities of Hamburg and Osnabrück , he accepted an appointment at the University of Jena in 1991 . From 1993 to 1997 he was Vice Rector of the University. From 1995 to 2000 he was a deputy member of the Thuringian Constitutional Court and from 2005 to 2007 . From 2000 to 2004 he was Georg Machnik's successor as rector of the University of Jena. His successor was Klaus Dicke .

Meyn's research focuses on Thuringian higher education and local law, the parliamentary system of government and the principle of representation.
