East discussion group

The Eastern Discussion Group was founded in 2003. On behalf of the then German federal government under Chancellor Gerhard Schröder , he was to analyze the funding policy for the new federal states, in particular the solidarity surcharge . A total of 16 experts from politics, business and science in Germany formed the Eastern Discussion Group. It was led by the spokesman Klaus von Dohnanyi and Edgar Most. In 2004 the final report with a future development strategy for the new federal states was published.
