Georg Magirius

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Georg Magirius (born September 30, 1968 in Rüsselsheim ) is a contemporary writer , journalist and feature author for ARD radio.

Life

Georg Magirius completed his studies in Protestant theology in Marburg, Münster and Heidelberg, then trained as a pastor. Since 2000 he has been working as a freelance journalist and writer.

His literary work is characterized by the striving to unite theology and literature. He confronts the big questions of life with today's everyday life - seriously and surprisingly funny at the same time. Therefore, according to the culture journalist Reiner Henn, he is “a specialist in addressing the apparent antinomy between the little things of everyday life and the big questions of being human in the theological and philosophical sense.” Magirius particularly illuminates the poetic pages of the Bible and comments on theological content personal point of view. At the center of his work are the liberating and healing potentials of religious tradition.

Since 2002 he has been giving readings in dialogue with music. He works regularly with the concert harpist Bettina Linck.

In 2009 he founded the GangART series, an ongoing series of spiritual day tours.

Georg Magirius lives in Frankfurt am Main.
