Georg Roessler

Georg Roessler (born April 16, 1887 in Gardelegen ; † unknown) was a politician of the ( SPD and SED ) and a member of the state parliament in Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Georg Rößler attended eight-year elementary school and then completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. In 1904 he joined the German Woodworkers Association and in 1912 the SPD. From 1918 he was a member of the city council and the district council in Gardelegen. He was a district board member of the SPD and district chairman of the Reich Banner Black-Red-Gold . In 1928 he became deputy mayor of the town of Gardelegen and district deputy of the district of Gardelegen . From 1923 he worked as an employee of the city health insurance fund.

During the Nazi era , he was released in 1933 and arrested several times.

On April 28, 1945 he was appointed mayor of Gardelegen by the SMAD and on June 26, 1945 he was appointed district administrator of the Gardelegen district. When the SPD and KPD were forced to unite , he became a member of the SED.

In the state elections in the province of Saxony in 1946 , he ran in constituency I (Jerichow II, Salzwedel, Osterburg, Stendal and Gardelegen) for the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt . After Martin Jäger's defeat in the mandate, he moved up to the state parliament.
