Georg Radtke

Georg Alfred Radtke (born September 1, 1922 in Lackmedien , East Prussia ; died July 1995 ) was a German farmer , field ornithologist and author.

Life

Radtke was the author of more than ten bird books a. a. in Horst Müller-Verlag and numerous articles in bird magazines such as the Feathered World and AZ bird information with a focus on parrot birds . His areas of work were u. a. Sea bird protection, duck bird research and experimental bird keeping. He was a member and national and international judge of the AZ . From 1958 to 1966 he was AZ-DWV chairman.

He wrote u. a. the standard work manual for budgie friends - care, breeding and color varieties , which has also been translated into other languages, and the first standards for color budgie breeding in the colored atlas for budgies . The improved standard was presented by him in 1959.

In 1986 he was awarded the AZ Gold Badge of Honor for his services.
