Georg Sandberger

Georg Sandberger (born April 28, 1940 in Munich ) is a German lawyer and former Chancellor of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen .

Life

After studying in Munich and Münster and the 1967 taking place in Tübingen Promotion Sandberger was initially for one year as a research fellow at the University of Michigan Law School , Ann Arbor, USA, and then as Academic (upper) Council joined the Law Faculty of the University of Tuebingen . In 1978 he was elected Chancellor of the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and held the Chancellery for 24 years until he retired in 2003. In addition to his work at the University of Tübingen, Sandberger was active in many committees, including a. as advisor to the Ministry of Science and Art Baden-Württemberg in the 2005 amendment to the University Act and in the ethics committee of the Medical Faculty of the University of Tübingen. He made a name for himself nationally in particular as an expert and consultant in questions of university medicine. In addition to his work as university chancellor and beyond, Sandberger was active in research and teaching as an honorary professor at the Faculty of Law. His research and teaching focus includes commercial , corporate and competition law as well as intellectual property law . After lengthy negotiations with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), he was able to get a study by the University of Tübingen and Harvard Medical School about a high doping rate in top international athletics released for publication.
