Georg Stangl

Georg Stangl (born April 9, 1927 in Lanzendorf ; † February 8, 2006 in Mistelbach ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and teacher. From 1966 to 1986 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

After primary and secondary school, Stangl attended the teacher training institute in Znojmo and did labor service between 1944 and 1945. Then Stangl was drafted into military service and was taken prisoner by the Americans and Soviets. After the end of the war, Stangl graduated from high school and started school. In addition, he was active as a councilor in Mistelbach from 1955 to 1981, and he was also active as deputy mayor between 1965 and 1966. Stangl was also involved between 1972 and 1986 as regional chairman of Kinderfreunde Austria and represented the SPÖ between March 31, 1966 and December 18, 1986 in the Lower Austrian state parliament. In addition, Stangl was deputy chairman of the financial control committee from 1979 to 1986.
