Georg Vonficht

Georg Vonficht (born March 21, 1882 in Ingolstadt ; † December 3, 1964 in Tegernsee ) was legally qualified mayor of the Upper Bavarian city of Traunstein from 1909 to 1935 .

Vonficht became a member of the Apollo Munich fraternity during his studies in 1901 . After the National Socialists came to power and the city council was dissolved in 1933, he initially remained in office because of his undisputed expertise and was only removed from office in 1935.

Previously, on October 2, 1934, on the occasion of his 25th anniversary in service, he was named an honorary citizen of Traunstein in “appreciation and grateful recognition of his extraordinarily meritorious, dutiful and fruitful effectiveness at all times in his office” .

After his release he moved to Munich. After his death he was buried in the city's crypt in the forest cemetery. A street in Traunstein was named after him.
