Georg von Berr

Georg von Berr (born August 7, 1830 in Pottenstein (Upper Franconia) , † 1919 ) was a Bavarian customs officer and politician.

Life

George of Berr studied at the University of Würzburg Law . In 1850 he became a member of the Corps Bavaria Würzburg . In 1855 he graduated with honors. After completing his legal clerkship, he became a council advisor in 1859 and an accounting commissioner for the general customs administration in 1860. In 1862 he became a laborer and chief customs officer in the Bavarian Ministry of Commerce . Two years later he moved to the General Customs Administration. In 1866 he was appointed chief customs officer in the Bavarian Ministry of Commerce. In the following years he was Ministerialrat and in 1871 Bavarian Plenipotentiary to the Federal Council .

Von Berr was appointed Minister of State for Finance of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1872. In 1877 he resigned from office for health reasons and worked as a Bavarian State Councilor in extraordinary service .
