George Charles Wallich
George Charles Wallich (born November 16, 1815 in Calcutta , † March 31, 1899 in London ) was a British medic and marine biologist .
He was the son of Nathaniel Wallich . In 1834 George Charles Wallich received his doctorate as a Medical Doctor in Edinburgh. In 1898 he was awarded the Linnean Medal of the Linnean Society of London .
As a botanist , George Charles Wallich dealt with algae . Its official botanical author abbreviation is " GCWall. ".
