George Chuter (born July 9, 1976 in London ) is an English rugby union player . He plays as a hooker for the English national team and the Leicester Tigers .

Chuter's professional career began in 1996 with the Saracens . He made a try for England A, the reserve of the national team , on his debut . In 2000 he moved to the Leicester Tigers and was used sporadically in England's reserves in the years to come. With the Tigers he has won five championship titles in the Guinness Premiership , twice the Heineken Cup and once the EDF Energy Cup .

In 2006 he was appointed to the national team for the first time. He has not yet played in the Six Nations , his debut followed in the summer against Australia . Since then he has been part of the extended circle. At the 2007 World Cup he was used in all seven games. In the summer of 2008 he was not considered for the New Zealand tour of England, but played for the England Saxons in the Churchill Cup and helped defend it as captain.

In the 2008/09 season he was taken back to the elite squad, but was not used. With Leicester he was English champion this season and reached the final of the Heineken Cup. There the Tigers had to admit defeat to Leinster .
