George Crombie

George Edmond Crombie GMG ( June 14, 1908 - December 8, 1972 ) was a British diplomat .

Life

George Crombie was dispatched to the West African Gambia as British High Commissioner in 1965 by the Wilson government ; he was the first high commissioner after the independence of the Gambia from Great Britain. His term of office in Gambia ended in 1968, and his successor in Gambia was J. Granville W. Ramage .

George Crombie was the son of James MP Crombie.
