George Joffé

Ellis George H. Joffé (* 1940 in Birmingham ) is a British geographer with a focus on North Africa and the Middle East. He currently teaches at King's College London and the Center of International Studies at Cambridge University .

From 1997 to 2000 Joffé was deputy director and director of studies at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) under Timothy Garden . Previously, from 1990 to 1997, he and Professor KS McLachlan headed the Geopolitics and International Boundaries Research Center at SOAS .

Joffé is a Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute and a member of the Instituto de Estudos Estratégicos e Internacionais (IEEI) in Lisbon.
