Life

Georgette Tsinguirides lost her mother at an early age and grew up under the care of her grandmother Maria Weickh, the lady in waiting for Queen Charlotte of Württemberg, née. Charlotte at Schaumburg-Lippe . When she was seven, she began training at the Stuttgart State Theater ballet school . She then took lessons with Olga Preobrajenska and Madame Nora at Studio Wacker in Paris and at the Royal Ballet School in London. In 1945 she received her first engagement at the Stuttgart State Theater, with a fee of 2250 Reichsmarks . In 1957 she became a soloist under the direction of Nicolas Beriozoff. Even before John Cranko took over the management of the company in 1961, she was already dancing in 1960 in his ballet Der Pagodenprinz , later a. a. in The Lady and the Fool and in Romeo and Juliet .

In 1966, Tsinguirides became Germany's first full-time dance script expert in Stuttgart . John Cranko commissioned her to record his choreographies in an international dance script. As a choreologist and ballet master, she has meanwhile passed on Cranko's work to several generations of dancers: Not only with the Stuttgart Ballet, but also with more than 30 other ballet companies worldwide.

At the suggestion of Cranko, Tsinguirides graduated in 1966 from studying Benesh Movement Notation in London with a diploma. Then she began to record all the great works that Cranko created in Stuttgart in this dance script. Individual movements are precisely recorded in writing like in a score .

On December 1, 2015, Tsinguirides celebrated her 70th anniversary with the Stuttgart Ballet. Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann presented her with the gold Staufer medal on December 5th .

She retired in July 2017 and was officially bid farewell at Ballett im Park on July 8, 2017.
