George Savalas
George Demosthenes Savalas ( Greek Γεώργιος Δημοσθένης Σαβάλας ) (born December 5, 1924 in New York City , † October 2, 1985 in Westwood , Los Angeles ) was an American actor .
George Savalas was the son of Greek immigrants and the younger brother of Telly Savalas , the popular performer of the police officer Kojak from the television series of the same name. He appeared in almost all episodes of the series as Detective Stavros - in some cases under the pseudonym Demosthenes - and was mostly mockingly called Wuschelköpfchen by his brother . In addition, he mostly had supporting roles in TV shows. Savalas was subscribed to lovable and comical characters.
He died of leukemia in 1985 .
