George Wallerstein
George Wallerstein (born January 13, 1930 in New York City ) is an American astronomer and professor emeritus from the University of Washington .
Wallerstein graduated from Brown University with a BA in 1952 and received an MS from the California Institute of Technology in 1954 and a Ph.D. in 1958 . In 1965 he went to the Astronomy Department at the University of Washington, to which he has remained associated ever since.
Wallerstein's research focused on the chemical composition of stellar atmospheres and on the interstellar medium .
