The Georgenpalais is a palace in the Georgengarten in Hanover . The palace was built in 1780-1782 by the architect Tänzel and worked as Wall Fashion Palais or Wall Fashion lodge a part of Wall Fashion gardens. The client for the construction was Count Johann Ludwig von Wallmoden-Gimborn , who laid the foundation stone for today's Georgengarten with his plans.

The Wallmodengarten, including the castle, was given to George III in 1817 . sold to expand the royal Herrenhausen Gardens and since 1818 has had the king's name changed. In 1921 the garden and palace became the property of the city of Hanover. In 1949 the Georgenpalais, damaged in the air raids on Hanover in World War II, was taken over by the Wilhelm Busch Society . The heavily damaged western side wing was then rebuilt. Today the Georgenpalais is used as the Wilhelm Busch - German Museum for Caricature and Drawing (previously: Wilhelm Busch Museum).

At the back of the Georgenpalais there are two sandstone sphinxes on the landings.
