Georges Magnane
Georges Magnane (born René Catinaud August 31, 1907 in Neuvic-Entier ; died September 12, 1985 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) was a French writer and translator.
Life
René Catinaud did competitive sports and studied English. He worked as a teacher. Under the pseudonym Georges Magnane, he published around fifteen of his own works, including novels, sports books and sports-sociological essays.
He has also translated works by Lisa Alther , Truman Capote , John Kenneth Galbraith , Mary Gordon , Ernest Hemingway , Seymour Hersh , JJ Lynx , Jan Morris , Iris Murdoch , Vladimir Nabokov , György Pálóczi Horváth , Philip Roth , John Updike , Todd Walton , Patrick White , Tom Wolfe from English into French.
