Georgette Anys

Georgette Anys (born July 15, 1909 in Bagneux , † March 4, 1993 in Les Mureaux ) was a French film and theater actress .

Life

Georgette Anys became active as an operetta and cabaret performer after finishing school. After she had already played a small film role in 1930, she was regularly seen in supporting roles in numerous French entertainment films from 1950, and she also played theater. Her best-known roles include the faithful housekeeper of Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock's classic film Above the Rooftops of Nice (1955) and the mother of the title character in Fanny (1961), played by Leslie Caron . By the mid-1980s, Anys worked on over 110 film and television productions. She died of cancer at the age of 83.
