Kilian van Gorp (born February 17, 1995 in Udenhout ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tilburg Trappers again since 2014 and has played with the club in the German Oberliga Nord since 2015 .

Career

Club

Kilian van Gorp, who comes from the Tilburg neighboring village Udenhout, began his career with the Tilburg Trappers , for whom he made his debut in the second team, the "Toekomstteam", in the second-class Eerste divisie at the age of 15 . In 2011 he moved to the Eindhoven Kemphanen , where he also initially played in the second team, the "High Techs". As a 17-year-old, he made his debut in the first team of gamecocks in the 2012/13 season in the honor division . In 2014 he returned to the Trappers, with whom he won the double from the Dutch championship title and cup competition in 2015 . After these successes he moved with his club to the German Oberliga Nord . In the league, the Trappers took second place behind the Füchsen Duisburg in their first season . Through play-off victories against the Hannover Scorpions , the EV Landshut and the EC Peiting , they reached the final of the Oberliga championship, which was won by a 3-0 final series against EHC Bayreuth . In 2017 and 2018 he was able to win the Oberliga championship with the Trappers.

International

For the Netherlands, van Gorp took in the Games Division II of the U18 World Cup in 2013 and the U20 World Championships in 2013 , 2014 when he was voted the best defender of the tournament, and in 2015 , when he was elected the best player of his team, in part .

Van Gorp first played for the Dutch national team in February 2016 in qualifying for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . He also took part in the World Cup of Division II 2018 when he was promoted to Division I with the Dutch, to which he made a significant contribution as the best player in his team.
