Zig Zig (Original title: Zig-Zig ) is a French - Italian film drama directed by László Szabó with Catherine Deneuve and Bernadette Lafont from 1975.
action
Pauline and Marie are engaged as dancers and singers in a nightclub in the Parisian entertainment district of Pigalle and are in great demand as stars of the cabaret number "Zig Zig". Her fans include Monsieur Jean, a wealthy, retired police superintendent. Little by little, the lesbian couple begins to take "reservations" from regulars in the bar of the former boxer Aldo Minelli. They consciously prostitute themselves there in order to create a secure future together with the money.
Without Marie's knowledge, however, Pauline works with a gang of transvestites who kidnap the wife of the Minister of Agriculture. While the inspector Bruyère gropes in the dark and his wife is cheating on him with the guard Edelweiss, Monsieur Jean finds and identifies the minister's wife.
Marie then reproaches her friend who has become a criminal. Pauline, however, is murdered shortly afterwards by the tramp Walter, who is in love with her and seeks revenge. Monsieur Jean kills Pauline's murderer and runs towards Marie, who is holding the body of her friend in her arms.
