Bagneux is a French commune with 40,918 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hauts-de-Seine department in the Île-de-France region . Administratively, it is the seat of the canton of the same name in the Antony arrondissement . The inhabitants call themselves Balnéolais .
geography
Bagneux is a suburb of Paris . The neighboring municipalities are Montrouge in the north, Châtillon and Fontenay-aux-Roses in the west, Sceaux and Bourg-la-Reine in the south and Arcueil and Cachan in the east.
history
In 1530 parts of the city were destroyed by a city fire . The fire also destroyed parts of the neighboring town of Sceaux .
Public transport
Bagneux is served by the RER B line of regional rail transport ( Réseau Express Régional ). It connects the city with Bourg-la-Reine and Arcueil . The public transport company RATP holds the concessions for the six local bus routes and the Métrolinie 13 (Paris) , which ends at the Châtillon - Montrouge train station .
