Bourg-la-Reine is a French town in Paris with 20,667 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Hauts-de-Seine of the region Île-de-France .
Toponymy
In the course of the French Revolution, the city was renamed Bourg de l'Égalité (market town of equality) in 1793 and then shortened to Bourg Égalité in 1801 . In 1812 the original name was reverted to.
geography
Bourg-la-Reine is about ten kilometers south of the center of Paris on the left bank of the Bièvre . Neighboring communities are Bagneux in the north-west , Cachan in the north-east, L'Haÿ-les-Roses in the east, Antony in the south and Sceaux in the south-west.

The company Cire Trudon , founded in 1643 as Maison de Cire Trudon, the oldest wax manufacture in the world has been operating here since 1971.
