Wilfried Happio (born September 22, 1998 in Bourg-la-Reine ) is a French hurdler who specializes in the 400-meter distance .

Athletic career and life

Wilfried Happio gained his first international experience in 2015 when he retired from the youth world championships in Cali with 53.42 seconds in the semi-finals and retired with the French mixed relay with 3: 34.74 minutes in the preliminary run. In 2017 he won the U20 European Championships in Grosseto 49.93 s and won the silver medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 09.04 min. The following year he won the silver medal at the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo in 50.65 s and had to admit defeat to the Italian Matteo Beria . At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama , he retired with the mixed relay with 3: 18.93 min in the preliminary round and then he won the U23 European Championships in Gävle in 49.03 seconds. He qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated with 51.25 s in the first round .

In 2019 , Happio became the French champion in the 400-meter hurdles.
