Georgi Ivanovich Petrov
Georgy Petrov ( Russian Георгий Иванович Петров ., Scientific transliteration Georgy Ivanovich Petrov , born May 18 . Jul / 31 May 1912 greg. In Pinega ; † 13. May 1987 ) was a Soviet engineer .
From 1965 to 1973 Petrov was the director of the Space Research Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR .
The following numerical methods are named after him and are used for calculation in numerical flow simulation:
- Upwinding-Petrov- Galerkin process
- Streamline Upwind Petrov Galerkin Procedure (SUPG)
