Georgi Ivanovich Safarow ( Russian Георгий Иванович Сафаров ; * 1891 in Saint Petersburg , † July 27, 1942 in Saratov ) was a Russian revolutionary.

Safarov joined the Bolsheviks in 1908 and became the leader of the youth organization in Petersburg. He emigrated to France for several years. In 1917 he and Lenin returned to Russia on the supposedly sealed train . Those affected were instructed not to get out. Despite all the information in the media and the literature, the train was not sealed (cf. e. Radsinski, Nikolaus II.). In the Comintern he was considered a specialist in questions about the East. In 1927 he became a member of the “Without Leader” group, in 1932 he belonged to the opposition block, which he left in 1935. He was arrested for the first time after the murder of Kirov and sentenced to five years in prison in 1936. In July 1942 he was executed in Saratov .
