Georgi Mirtschew ( Bulgarian Георги Мирчев ; born August 22, 1985 in Sofia ) is a former Bulgarian natural track luge .

Career

Mirtschew began sledding in 1995. After he had already started in the Intercontinental Cup, he first took part in an international junior championship, the Junior World Championship in Gsies , in February 2002 . There, however, he only came in 35th and last place in the single-seater. In the next winter Mirtschew started next to the single seater also together with Galabin Bozew in the double seater. At the 2003 European Junior Championships in Kreuth , he finished third from last in the single-seater 39th place and in the doubles with Bozew as the last, seventh place. Although he had never started in the World Cup , Mirtschew also took part in the 2003 World Championships held a week later in Železniki . There he rode in a single-seater among 48 rated tobogganists in 44th place, making him second-best of the five Bulgarians who started behind Bozew. In the two-seater he only achieved twelfth and last place with Galabin Bozew. After 2003 Georgi Mirtschew took part in no more international competitions.
