Georgios Bonanos
Georgios Bonanos ( Greek Γεώργιος Μπονάνος ; * April 10, 1863 Vouni (today to Lixouri ); † May 10, 1940 in Athens ) was an important Greek sculptor.
Bonanos studied sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts and also took lessons from the well-known sculptor Dimitrios Filippotis . He later continued his studies in Rome. Bonano's works are based on the principles of classical Greek statues. His preferred material was marble. In addition to statues and busts, Bonanos also made cemetery stamps and gravestones. His famous statues include the statue of Paris in the collection of Andreas Sygrou, as well as the statues of Odysseas Androutsos and Ioannis Kapodistrias . Works by Bonanos can be found in Kefalonia , Athens and in private collections.
