The parents call a doctor, but he has no advice. So Gerald goes to school and the parents hope that their child will learn to speak this way. After the first day of school, however, Gerald is expelled from school because you cannot teach a boy who only makes noises.

The sound effects that Gerald utters get bigger and bigger as the boy grows up, he now sounds like a train and even makes explosion noises. The other children avoid him and his father also reacts increasingly angry, so that Gerald runs away from home one night.
