Gerald Nosko (born May 26, 1939 in Dornbirn ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and businessman. From 1989 to 1999 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Nosko attended primary and secondary school in Dornbirn and graduated from the Bregenz Commercial Academy in 1957 . From 1957 to 1962 he worked for the Franz M. Rhomberg company and completed an apprenticeship as an accountant in 1960. In 1962 he became an employee of Zumtobel AG, where he became head of the organization and IT department in 1962. In 1977 he was promoted to authorized signatory , in 1992 he was taken over by Zumtobel Holding as an employee in the Human Research Management department. Nosko stayed in this area until his retirement on January 1st, 2002. In addition to his job, Nosko was appointed to the advisory board of Mäser dishes in 1994, until 2007 he was also chairman of the advisory board of Mäser dishes and from 2004 to 2005 managing director of Mäser dishes.

Political career

In 1973 Nosko joined the Austrian People's Party and its sub-organization, the ÖAAB . He was active within the party from 1981 to 1995 as chairman of the ÖAAB Dornbirn and worked as a member of the district management and as deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP Dornbirn. He was also a member of the state party leadership of the ÖVP Vorarlberg from 1983 to 1996 . In terms of local politics, he held a mandate in the Dornbirn city ​​council from 1975 to 1985 and was a member of the finance, personnel, economic and road committees. He was then a substitute member of the city council from 1985 to 1990.

Within the union he became involved in 1973 as a member of the Christian trade unionist faction and member of the ÖGB, he was also active in the state section management of the ÖGB industry and the state management of the private employees' union. At Zumtobel AG he acted as works council chairman for the employees of FCG from 1973 to around 1980, and from 1984 to 1989 he was chamber councilor for workers and salaried employees. Gerald Nosko was born as the son of the teacher Ernst Josef Nosko and his wife Helene. His parents were both born in Dornbirn. Gerald Nosko married Herlinde Peter, who was also from Dornbirn, in 1963 and had a daughter in 1964 and a daughter in 1967.
